How much money could I earn in the experiments?

The earnings may differ significantly depending on the particular experiments. Typically, you would receive a fixed “show up fee” plus a variable amount depending on the decisions you make. Based on previous studies, a tentative amount would be about 15 Euros/hour. However, keep in mind that it will depend on the particular situation and also on the decisions you make. You would receive precise information before engaging any experiment.

How does the payment system work?

Currently (and only temporarily) participants will be paid only in the corresponding labs where experiments are performed. We are just about to implement a PayPal platform for payments corresponding to online experiments.  In order to receive their earnings, participants must have a free PayPal account and provide an email address.

How can I modify or remove my personal data?

Volunteers are entitled to request access, modifications, and cancellation of their own personal data by attaching an identificative document to their request addressed to Servicio de Informática – Protección de Datos (Universitat de València), C/ Amadeo de Saboya, 4, 46010 Valencia. The reference “PROYECTO IBSEN H2020” should be provided to facilitate their request. If you have any questions regarding your personal data, please contact us here.

Are my personal data safe and confidential?

Yes. Personal data will be used to check the identity and suitability of required profiles along experimental sessions and will be used for recruitment and payment purposes only. This process is necessary to fulfill the methodological approach of experimental economics and obtain high quality validated results. IBSEN accomplishes all procedures established by the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. If you have any questions regarding your personal data, please contact us here.

Can I participate exclusively online?

Yes. Some of our experiments will not require your physical presence in any lab. Either case, you would receive complete information before engaging any experiment, so you can decide if a particular call for participants is suitable for you .

I am interested, but I don't want to give out my passport number

It is compulsory to provide your Passport number in order to register. IBSEN is an international project, and the Passport is the standard document for international identification. We need to be able to check your identity in order to ensure the quality of our results and even its legality (for example, we only accept people +18). If you have concerns regarding the confidentiality and protection of your personal data, please refer to the F.A.Q: “Are my personal data safe and confidential?“.
